Endurance of Time

This original abstract painting is painted on textured panel and features raised curved section through center of the painting.  The edges are gallery wrapped and measure up to 2-1/4" in thickness so the piece has a nice substantial feel to it.  The painting continues around the edges which adds to the contemporary feel of the piece and does not require framing.

"Many of my petroglyph paintings have begun to include abstract elements in them (poured paint and color washes) so when the Diamond Head Gallery asked if I would do a series of pure abstracts, I was delighted.  I truly enjoyed making this painting and it has spontaneous elements like the action painting, and more traditional techniques like color glazing in certain areas.  I had fun with this piece and it shows through in this painting.
